Hello mate, possibly one of the most popular questions I have seen over the years. The roles do exist but they seem far and few in-between at the moment.

We wrote a pretty comprehensive guide on the subject on one of our sister websites.

Take a read and let us know if you have further questions 👍

        Hi mark

Still looking for Truck drivers jobs but it’s difficult, the DAMA looks the best bet but trying to get a company to sponsor is not easy

    Hi Stuart,

Yeah, securing employer sponsorship can be tricky, but the DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement) route does open up more opportunities, especially in regional areas.

Western Australia has a DAMA that covers certain regional areas, including the Goldfields, the South West, and the Pilbara. Checking and trick driver is available on the WA DAMA

Some transport companies operating in these regions may be able to sponsor truck drivers under DAMA provisions, which often offer concessions on standard visa requirements like English language skills and salary thresholds.

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend looking into the WA DAMA and identifying employers operating within these regional agreements. A good place to start is by checking with local councils and industry bodies in these regions. You can also keep an eye on 482jobs.com, where all listed jobs come with visa sponsorship. Additionally, searching on Seek.com.au and Indeed.com.au for transport companies based in DAMA-covered areas might yield some leads.

If you’re open to locations outside Perth, you may have better luck in regional transport hubs where demand for skilled drivers is higher. Let me know if you need help finding specific areas or companies!

    Cheers, Mark

To expand on this. After doing a little googling; here are some Western Australian transport companies operating in the Goldfields, Pilbara, and South West regions that you might consider reaching out to:

Centurion – One of Australia’s largest independently owned transport and logistics companies, Centurion operates extensively throughout Western Australia, including the Pilbara and Goldfields regions. They offer a broad range of logistics services and have multiple distribution centres across the state.

    Website: https://centurion.net.au/western-australia/

Sands Fridge Lines – Specialising in refrigerated freight, Sands Fridge Lines services regional areas of the South West, Mid-West, Goldfields, Pilbara, and Kimberley. They have depots in key locations such as Bunbury, Kalgoorlie, and Karratha.

    Website: https://www.sandsfridgelines.com.au/

Bruce Avery Transport – A family-owned company operating primarily throughout Western Australia, including the Pilbara and Goldfields. They provide heavy haulage and general freight transport services.

    Website: https://www.bruceaverytransport.com/

Jolly & Sons – Offering logistics solutions for various industries, including mining and exploration, Jolly & Sons operates in remote areas across Western Australia.

    Website: https://www.jollyandsons.com.au/

Sykes Transport (W.A.) – Based in Kewdale, Sykes Transport specialises in general road freight, controlled waste, and dangerous goods, servicing various commercial clients across Western Australia.

    Website: https://www.yellowpages.com.au/find/freight-transport-companies/wa

Reaching out directly to these companies to inquire about potential sponsorship opportunities could be beneficial.

    I hope this helps

    Cheers

All good mate. Best of luck. A multi pronged approach is probably the best when it comes to securing truck driver jobs in Australia offering Visa sponsorship.

They are out there but they can also be a bit of a needle in a haystack sometimes.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Cheers

    Hi Stuart,

Good to hear from you mate and great to see you’re still pushing forward! 🙂

You’re absolutely right, sometimes just updating your CV can make all the difference, especially if it’s tailored to what Aussie employers expect.

A while back we put together a guide on how to format and strengthen your resume for the Australian market here:

    https://gettingdownunder.com/australian-resume-format-tips-for-migrants/

Make sure to highlight your licence types, long-haul experience, and any work you’ve done in remote or challenging conditions.

Stick with it mate, you’re on the right path! 🙏🏻

    Cheers,

    Mark
