Hi Harold, welcome to our community. 🙂

Thanks for your message! Based on your occupation, Maintenance Fitter is considered a specialisation of Fitter (General), which falls under ANZSCO 323211. This occupation is listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), which means it is eligible for the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482) under the medium-term stream.

    This means:

You can be sponsored by an approved employer anywhere in Australia (not just regional areas).

You may be eligible for a four-year visa, with a pathway to permanent residency after three years.

You’ll need at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

If you’re from Papua New Guinea, a skills assessment through Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) may be required.

To find employers offering visa sponsorship:

Start with https://482jobs.com – this is one of our websites and all jobs listed here are confirmed to offer visa sponsorship.

    Then check https://seek.com.au and https://indeed.com.au

I also suggest uploading your resume here to connect with Australian employers directly:

    https://482jobs.com/candidates/submit-resume/

Let me know if you need help with your resume, skills assessment, or anything else.

All the best Harold, and happy to help further if you have further questions.

    Regards

    Mark

    Hi Mark

Acknowledge your reply to my query.

I have a Certificate III in Engineering- MEM30205 Mechanical Trade. As you have provided more information on how to search for companies to sponsor.

I have been applying for almost 2 years now and nothing favorable has come my way. I hope you can look into this, or you can assist in finding a visa sponsor company to sponsor.

Otherwise, I can forward you my resume for you to have look.

    Hi Harold,

Thanks for the follow-up. I really appreciate you sharing more about your background, your Certificate III in Engineering – MEM30205 (Mechanical Trade) aligns well with the Maintenance Fitter pathway under ANZSCO 323211, and your experience should definitely be of interest to the right employer.

Since you’ve been applying for nearly 2 years without success, here are a few suggestions that might help:

    1. Where Have You Been Searching?
Let me know which websites or job boards you’ve been using. It’s really important to make sure you’re applying only for jobs that offer visa sponsorship, many roles in Australia don’t, and it’s easy to waste time applying for jobs that won’t lead anywhere.

    2. Target These Websites First:

      • https://482jobs.com – This is one of our websites, and all listings here are confirmed to offer sponsorship (membership required).

      • https://seek.com.au and https://indeed.com.au – Great for broader job searching, but always double-check the job ad for sponsorship eligibility. Use terms such as ‘sponsorship’ as part of your criteria to help filter jobs

    3. Update Your Resume to Australian Format:
Many overseas resumes don’t align with what Australian employers are used to seeing. I recommend reading this article to format your resume correctly:
      https://482jobs.com/australia-resume-tips-craft-winning-resume/

    4. Upload Your Resume for Employers to Find You:
As suggested previously, by uploading your resume to our site, recruiters and employers who are actively looking to sponsor overseas workers will be able to view your profile directly:
      https://482jobs.com/candidates/submit-resume/

Feel free to send me a link to your resume once you have uploaded it. You can post the link here on the forums or send me a direct message with the URL of your resume on 482jobs.

    Regards

    Mark
