  Since your degree is in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, but your work experience is in IT (Java Mobile Application Development), you must determine which ANZSCO (Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations) code best fits your skills.

  For IT professionals, the most relevant ANZSCO codes could be:

  • 261312 – Developer Programmer
  • 261313 – Software Engineer
  • 261399 – Software and Applications Programmers (NEC)

  Visa Options

  1. Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189) – Requires your occupation to be on the MLTSSL (Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List) and a competitive points score.
  2. Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) – Requires state nomination and your occupation on the relevant state’s skilled occupation list.
  3. Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 491) – Requires nomination by a state or territory government or sponsorship by an eligible relative in a regional area.
