Welcome to our community Christian 👏🏻🙂
There are definitely opportunities in Australia, but your pathway will depend on whether your role fits into a sponsorable occupation category.
1. Is Your Occupation on one of the Australia Skilled Occupation Lists?
You will see me mentioning ANZSCO codes quite a bit in our forums. ANZSCO is basically a job description given to every occupation that qualifies for Australia Migration. In my search, Fire alarm specialists doesn’t have a direct ANZSCO code.
No need to panic just yet however as your role may align with:
Electronics Instrument Trades Worker (Special Class) – ANZSCO 342315 (on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List – MLTSSL)
Electrical Engineering Technician – ANZSCO 312312 (on the Short-term Skilled Occupation List – STSOL, requires state nomination for PR)
Electrician (General) – ANZSCO 341111 (on MLTSSL, strong pathway for skilled migration and employer sponsorship if you meet requirements)
📌 Best Match for Fire Alarm Technicians:
If your work involves installing, maintaining, and commissioning fire alarm systems, you may be able to apply as an Electronics Instrument Trades Worker (ANZSCO 342315), which is on the MLTSSL.
The MLTSSL is the Skills Shortage list that enables you to apply for a number of visas that offer Australia PR so this is good news.
If your work is more aligned with electrical engineering and designing fire systems, the Electrical Engineering Technician (ANZSCO 312312) code may be suitable.
So if you can help me by checking the “job descriptions” associated with the ANZSCO codes I have linked or confirm your qualifications and job duties to confirm the best fit?
We can then dig into your visa options and the process itself.
Cheers
Mark
