Hi Akanksha, welcome to our community and thanks for your post!

As an interior designer there are a few steps you can take to improve your chances of landing a job offer with visa sponsorship for Australia.

    1. Check Occupation Eligibility

Interior Designer falls under ANZSCO code 232511 and is currently listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

This means you may be eligible for skilled visas like Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated), Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent), or Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage) if you get state nomination or an employer sponsor.

    2. Search for Sponsorship Jobs

To find jobs that offer sponsorship:

https://482jobs.com – This is one of our own websites and all jobs listed here offer Australia Visa Sponsorship. You can browse roles or upload your resume directly: https://482jobs.com/candidates/submit-resume/

    Seek: https://seek.com.au

    Indeed: https://indeed.com.au

For seek and indeed. Some filtering is required as both sites publish non sponsored and sponsored listings

    3. Optimise Your Resume and LinkedIn

Australian employers expect a local-style resume. Here’s a guide to help format your CV:

    Australia Resume Tips: https://482jobs.com/australia-resume-tips-craft-winning-resume/

Also, update your LinkedIn to attract recruiters. These tips can help:

15 Expert Tips to Get Noticed by Australian Recruiters on LinkedIn: https://482jobs.com/15-expert-tips-to-get-noticed-by-australian-recruiters-on-linkedin

    4. Consider a Skills Assessment

For skilled visas, you’ll need a positive skills assessment through VETASSESS, the assessing authority for Interior Designers. See: https://www.vetassess.com.au

    5. Optional: Register with Recruiters

Once your resume is updated and aligned with Australian standards, share it with recruitment agencies that specialise in design and architecture roles.

I hope this helps you get started! Let me know if you’d like more info about any of the above or anything else.

    All the best

    Thanks for the response Mark.

I am in the process of getting a skills assessment and filing an EOI for these visas.

I however need help connecting with recruiters who would be open to taking up overseas clients. Can you guide me for that.

Great that you are thinking about doing a skills assessment as this will certainly help you with potential employers

I’m happy to take a look and provide some feedback on recruiters. I notice on your profile you are targeting New South Wales as a potential destination. Is this the only place you would consider or are you open to other states?

I am open to exploring other states as well. WA is also pretty high on my list. I just did some research and saw that Interior Designing is a shortage profession in NSW.

however we can definitely explore other states

Note is part of my search, it was difficult to identify any of the agencies that specifically target overseas candidates though I can confirm they specialise in the types of roles and opportunities you are looking for.

I’d connect with each one via email to enquire if they have employer clients that might be interested in sponsoring.

Be conscious that they will be keen on your skills assessment and English language test status so I would recommend completing these before reaching out as you might get a bit of push back if you have still to pass these tests/assessments.

I hope this helps and please feel free to let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Best regards,

    Mark
