Hi all! First up I want to say hello and it’s nice to find a new forum to discuss Oz and emigration.
I’m back on Oz forums as I’m reigniting the fire to get to Aus.
I have a long old story with emigrating (or not!) to Oz. First up was a sponsorship back in 2018 where it was all close to being wrapped up and then laws/guidance/legislation changed around sponsorship and it fell through. Then my wife and I were going to come and actually had a 489 visa and we broke up but even if we did use it we would have then hit the hurdle of Covid-19 and the strict border controls. Sometimes I feel like the universe is sending me a message!
Fast forward to now and my partner and I have family (her sister and nephews in Aus) and we are considering the move once more. Well, more accurately I want to move, her sister would love her to move and it’s just some convincing that needs doing. We’ve spent 2 months over there in the Goldie and that’s where we’d like to be, or near, as her sister lives in Nerang.
I want to be back in Aus so badly.

It’s great to have you here as I’m sure you can probably contribute almost as much as you might learn.

Hi again Mark and thanks again. Hopefully I can contribute a lot as in my hitches that I’ve hit in trying to move to Australia I have learned a lot about visas, moving logistics and the obstacles people face.
Hope anyone over there now stays safe in the cyclone. Hunker down!

I’m here over on the West coast but watching the news closely as we have family on the East (though away from the hot spots for now thankfully) 🙂
