• I am looking for visa sponsorship in Australia

Posted by khaledMember - Located in Egypt on July 7, 2025 at 12:28 am

Hello dears, my name is Khaled Hussein. I’m Egyptian citizen and 57 year’s old. I really talk to you from my heart. I dream of living in Australia and kick start new life and career, I have bachelor’s degree in English language and literature. I am enthusiastic, bilingual Arabic and English speaker. I have good knowledge of medical terminology and customer service skills. More than 25 years work experiences in various jobs in Adm health service and education, started earlier medical receptionist and medical reports editor for 7 years, then ESL elementary and adult teacher and mentor. recently I have a part time job as pharmacy assistant in local pharmacy in my town in Egypt and so keen in driving cars too. I really applied for many jobs in many web sites like Seek, Indeed and etc. But I don’t find any positive results for that. Although I have prepared good CV and cover letters related to my jobs. I even think to apply for retire visa as I am more than 55 years old but I don’t have that amount of money to prove. I really feel of failure after these years helping and serving people in hospitals and schools. I feel alone too though I had many old friends around the world from Australia, NE Zealand, U K and Canada that we work together in leading hospitals and schools in Saudi Arabia before. But it is clear they changed their addresses and contact information as many years passed.

I am ambitious and ready to work, help in that fine community and looking for any open door to Australia to achieve my best dream. So Is there any hope or hand may help me through your kind forum. Thanks in advance for any true trial.

Thanks for sharing your story, Khaled, and for reaching out with such honesty and heart.

At age 57, most standard skilled visa pathways to Australia, like the subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage) or subclass 189/190 (Skilled Independent/State Sponsored), become very difficult due to age limits.

These usually have a cut-off at 45 years old. Unfortunately, Australia does not have a general “retirement visa” anymore unless you have significant financial means, which you mentioned you don’t.

However, here are a few options that may be worth exploring:

    1. Employer Sponsorship via Subclass 482 Visa

This visa allows Australian employers to sponsor skilled workers. There is no age limit, but the employer must be willing to sponsor you, and your occupation must be on one of the skilled occupation lists.

Your background in medical reception, education, and pharmacy assistance may not directly align with eligible occupations, but if you can find an employer who is desperate for experience in regional areas, they may sponsor you under a DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement). These allow for more flexibility, including older applicants.

    To start:

Visit https://482jobs.com, this is our trusted site where every job is verified to offer Australia Visa sponsorship.

For jobs related to healthcare or medical support, check: https://482jobs.com/job-category/healthcare-medical/

For education or ESL-related roles: https://482jobs.com/job-category/education-teaching/

Also try Seek again (https://seek.com.au) and Indeed (https://indeed.com.au), but use search terms like “visa sponsorship” or “482 visa” to narrow results.

    2. Volunteering or Community-Based Visitor Visas

While these won’t lead to permanent migration, some community organisations in Australia do host visitors for short-term help or cultural exchange. It’s not a pathway to stay permanently, but it might give you a taste of life in Australia while you keep searching.

    3. Explore Reunion with Old Contacts

If any of your past friends or colleagues in Australia are still reachable, perhaps they can refer you to employers, or even consider employer nomination if they’re in a position to do so. Referrals carry a lot of weight in Australia’s job market.

Lastly, don’t lose hope. Your experience and passion for service are admirable. While the official pathways may be limited, continuing to connect, apply, and explore smaller regional opportunities under DAMA agreements might open unexpected doors.

I hope this gives you some new ideas. Don’t hesitate to post follow-up questions if you’d like help exploring DAMA regions or checking specific job titles for visa eligibility.

Wishing you renewed strength and the very best on your journey.

    Regards

    Hello my friend Mark

Thanks a lot for your kind feelings and advises. Please send me more information about DAMA program and links related so I can apply and I may find a sponsor and get a job and a visa in the meanwhile.

    So grateful,

    You’re very welcome, Khaled.

The DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement) program might be your best chance, as it allows certain regional areas in Australia to sponsor overseas workers with more flexibility.

    This includes:

    • Age concessions – some DAMAs allow sponsorship for applicants older than 45
    • English language concessions
    • Experience-based qualifications – sometimes you don’t need formal qualifications if you have strong work experience

Each DAMA covers different occupations based on local shortages. Some areas prioritise healthcare, aged care, hospitality, and support roles, which may suit your background.

Here’s a helpful guide that clearly explains how DAMAs work and how to apply:

Navigating DAMA Visas for Australia’s Skilled Workers

Also, the job sites I shared earlier are a good starting point for finding employers who offer visa sponsorship. Even if the job isn’t directly under a DAMA, some regional employers may still be open to sponsoring you through the DAMA process if they qualify.

Let me know if you’d like help identifying which DAMA regions match your skills. I’m happy to check for you.

Stay positive and keep going, Khaled. Many people have succeeded through DAMAs, especially in regional communities that are looking for loyal, experienced workers like yourself.

All the best and take care.

I will most certainly do that Khaled. I’d encourage you to keep an eye on the news articles shared here as this will also cover potential changes in Australian Migration law that might benefit you.

Have you also considered Canada as a destination? The jobs at visa Jobs Canada might also be of interest. Canada also seems to be less restrictive when it comes to the age of migrants.

Wishing you all the best in the meantime

    Regards

    Mark
