Hi Stanely,
Thanks for sharing your impressive background and passion for hospitality education. Based on your qualifications and experience, you have two strong pathways to consider for migrating to Australia:
1. Skilled Migration as a University Lecturer (ANZSCO 242111)
Given your current role as an Assistant Food and Beverage Production Lecturer and your advanced academic qualifications, you may be eligible to apply as a University Lecturer under ANZSCO code 242111. This occupation is listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), opening up several visa options:
-
Subclass 189 – Skilled Independent Visa: A points-tested permanent visa that does not require state or employer nomination.
-
Subclass 190 – Skilled Nominated Visa: A points-tested permanent visa requiring nomination by an Australian state or territory government.
-
Subclass 491 – Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa: A points-tested temporary visa (valid for 5 years) requiring nomination by a state or territory government or sponsorship by an eligible family member residing in a designated regional area.
-
Subclass 186 – Employer Nomination Scheme Visa: A permanent visa requiring nomination by an Australian employer.
-
Subclass 494 – Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa: A temporary visa (valid for 5 years) requiring nomination by an employer in regional Australia.
For these visas, you will need a positive skills assessment from VETASSESS for the University Lecturer occupation.
2. Employer-Sponsored Pathways in the Hospitality Industry
If you prefer to work directly in the hospitality industry, there are employer-sponsored visa options:
-
Subclass 482 – Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa: Allows Australian employers to sponsor skilled workers for positions they cannot fill locally. This visa can be a pathway to permanent residency.
-
Subclass 494 – Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa: For employers in regional areas to sponsor skilled workers. This visa offers a pathway to permanent residency after three years.
