Hi Samuel,
Welcome to the community! It’s great to have you here. 🙂 It sounds like you have a diverse skill set with both teaching and pastoral experience. If you’re considering migration to Australia, there may be pathways depending on your qualifications and work experience.
Do you have a view at this time with regards to the type of work you’d like to do here in Australia.
Would teaching be your preferred platform for a move to Australia and of so, can you expand on your experience and the number of years you have worked in this field?
Best regards,
Mark

Hi Samuel and thank you for confirming 🙂
Eight years of teaching experience is a great foundation!
It’s important to know that here In Australia, teaching is a regulated profession, and to migrate as a teacher, you will need:
A skills assessment from the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) (https://www.aitsl.edu.au).
A valid English proficiency test, such as IELTS (usually requiring a high score).
To meet state-based teacher registration requirements if you plan to work in a specific region.
Since Mathematics Teacher (ANZSCO 241311) is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), you have good visa options, including:
Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent Visa) – No sponsorship required, points-tested.
Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa) – State sponsorship required, points-tested.
Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional Visa) – Regional sponsorship required, points-tested.
However, Christian Religious Education Teacher may not have the same migration options, so Mathematics would be the stronger occupation for your application.
If you need help with calculating your points for a skilled visa please see the link I’ve shared above.
Please let me know if you have any further questions and I’d be happy to guide you through the next steps!
Best regards,
Mark
