  • Looking for employer sponsorship visa

Posted by Anura on February 7, 2025 at 3:30 pm

Hello! My name is Anura, and I am a 40-year-old IT professional from Sri Lanka. With over 17 years of experience working in Sri Lanka and the Middle East, I have had the opportunity to contribute to reputable organizations in industries such as hospitality, banking, and automotive. Throughout my career, I have completed a range of certifications and training programs, including CCNA, Systems & Network Administration, Windows Server 2012, Linux Systems & Network Administration, Graphic Design, SCCM, Web Development, AIX, and SAP Basis. I am currently seeking a position that offers employer-sponsored visa opportunities. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Anura,

    Welcome to the community! 🤗

Some really good experience there, and with your strong certification background, you may have good prospects for employer-sponsored visas in Australia.

    Job Search for Employer-Sponsored Roles

To find jobs that offer visa sponsorship, I recommend starting with these websites:

    • 482Jobs.com – This is our own website, and all jobs listed here are confirmed to offer visa sponsorship.
    • Seek and Indeed – These have a larger number of job postings, but you will need to filter results using keywords like “visa sponsorship” or “482 visa”.

    Visa Options for IT Professionals

Since a number of IT occupations are generally in demand in Australia, you may be eligible for employer-sponsored visas such as:

    • Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage Visa) – Requires a job offer from an approved sponsor.
    • Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme – Direct Entry) – Requires employer sponsorship but leads to permanent residency.
    • Subclass 494 (Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Visa) – For regional areas; offers a pathway to PR.

Many IT occupations are on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), which increases visa options. Your specific job title and ANZSCO code will determine eligibility.

    Additional Tips

If you have a preferred job title, I can help you check specific visa eligibility. Let me know how I can assist you further!

Best of luck in your job search! 😊

    Regards
    Mark

Thanks Anura, when you say SAP, are you a database engineer or do the other ANZSCO links I shared resonate from a responsibility perspective? Once we have an occupation name that aligned with the names Australia migration uses to identify skills in demand, this will help us better map out your visa options. 🙂

With this in mind, if you can provide a little more detail behind your day-to-day job accountabilities, this would help.
