Hi Slide, welcome to the forum! 👋🏻

It’s great to hear about your horticulture experience. There are a few visa pathways that might work for you to get a job with visa sponsorship in Australia.

    1. Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa (Subclass 482)

Horticulturalist (ANZSCO 362011) is currently on the Regional Occupation List (ROL), meaning employers in regional areas can sponsor you.

You’ll need a job offer from an employer who is an approved sponsor.

Since you have five years of experience, you might qualify directly, but employers often look for candidates with relevant Australian or international certifications.

Check for jobs on https://482jobs.com, as all listed jobs offer visa sponsorship.

    2. Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 494)

Similar to the TSS visa but focused on regional Australia, where horticulture jobs are in demand.

Requires a skills assessment from a relevant authority (possibly VETASSESS) and a job offer from a regional employer.

    3. DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement)

Some regional areas have agreements allowing sponsorship of skilled workers under relaxed criteria.

Northern Territory, South Australia, and some parts of Victoria and Queensland have DAMAs that may include horticultural roles.

You may be eligible even if you don’t meet the standard experience or salary requirements.

    4. Skilled Migration (Subclass 190 or 491)

If your occupation is on a state nomination list, you might apply for a Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) or Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491).

These visas don’t require employer sponsorship but do require state nomination.

You’d need a skills assessment and to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect.

    Finding a Sponsored Job

Start with https://482jobs.com for verified sponsorship jobs.

Also check https://seek.com.au and https://indeed.com.au, but filter for “visa sponsorship” roles.

Contact Australian horticulture employers directly, particularly in regional areas.

Since you’re open to starting as a graduate intern, some agricultural companies or farms may offer traineeship programs, but you’d need to ensure they provide visa sponsorship. Another option is the Working Holiday Visa (if eligible) or Seasonal Worker Program, but Zimbabwe is not currently on the eligible country list.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you need more details.

    Regards,

    Mark
