  • Seeking 482 Visa Sponsorship in Australia as Experienced Welder/Fabricator

Posted by meghanath on June 26, 2025 at 6:00 pm

    Hello everyone,

I am currently exploring opportunities to migrate to Australia under the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Subclass 482). My preferred destination is New South Wales, although I’m open to other regional areas as well.

I have over 9 years of experience working under the EPS system in South Korea as a Welder and Fabricator, with specialization in SMAW, MIG, and TIG welding. My professional background includes:

Hyundai Heavy Industries (2015–2022) – Working on heavy fabrication and welding projects in the shipbuilding and industrial sectors.

Plastic Injection Molding Company (2022–2024) – Working on welding and structural assembly of mold components and manufacturing machinery.

At this stage, I’m still deciding whether to proceed with the help of a migration agent or to manage the application process myself.

I’m seeking advice, guidance, or potential employer leads who may be offering 482 visa sponsorship in my trade. If anyone has gone through a similar pathway or knows of genuine employers currently sponsoring skilled welders, your support would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance!

    Warm regards,

    Meghanath sapkota

Hi Meghanath, thanks for sharing your experience and welcome! 🙂 You’ve got a strong background that many Australian employers would value, especially with your welding skills across SMAW, MIG and TIG.

Your occupation falls under ANZSCO 322313 – Welder (First Class), which is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). This means it’s eligible for the subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage visa, and even potential permanent options down the line (like the 186 or 189 visas).

To find Australia Visa sponsorship jobs as a Welder or Fabricator, your best starting point is:

https://482jobs.com — this is one of our own websites, and every job listed here is verified as offering Australia Visa sponsorship. For welding-related jobs, check this direct link: https://482jobs.com/job-category/trades-services/

    Other job boards:

    Seek Australia: https://seek.com.au

    Indeed Australia: https://indeed.com.au

Tip: Use keywords like “482 visa sponsorship” or “visa sponsorship welder” to narrow your search as these sites list both sponsored and non sponsored roles.

    Also, be sure to:

    Upload your resume here: https://482jobs.com/candidates/submit-resume/

This gets your profile in front of verified Australian employers who are actively hiring offshore talent.

Considering a registered migration agent can be helpful, especially to navigate the application details, but many people do manage the 482 visa process on their own if the sponsoring employer handles most of the paperwork.

If you need one or want to have an initial assessment call, I can refer you to a MARA registered agent we work with (they do charge an small initial fee for your video assessment).

I hope this gives you a good starting point. Wishing you all the best on your journey to Australia!

    All the best

    Mark
