  • Seeking Employer Sponsorship for Quantity Surveyor or Contract Administrator Rol

Posted by Anton Remulan on February 9, 2025 at 6:44 pm

    Hello everyone,

I am an experienced Quantity Surveyor with 12 years of extensive experience in major infrastructure and construction projects, including highways, drainage, sewerage, landscaping, water treatment plants, high-rise buildings, and metro rail projects. Notably, I have worked on the Qatar Metro and Etihad Railway projects, managing all quantity surveying functions from inception to completion.

I recently completed my master’s degree at Bond University, Gold Coast, and I am now seeking an employer-sponsored opportunity (482 or 186 visa) as a Quantity Surveyor or Contract Administrator in Australia. My expertise includes:

    Cost estimation and budgeting
    Contract administration and claims management
    Procurement and tendering
    Risk analysis and value engineering

I am highly motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with a strong background in both residential and infrastructure construction. I am eager to contribute my skills to a reputable Australian construction company.

If you know of any employers offering visa sponsorship or recruiters specializing in sponsored roles, I would greatly appreciate any leads or referrals. Please feel free to connect with me or send me a message.

Thank you in advance for your support!

    Hi Anton,

Welcome to our community, and thanks for sharing your background! 🙂

With your experience and a Masters, i think you have a strong profile for employer sponsorship here in Australia.

Job Search Tips for Sponsored Roles

To find employer-sponsored opportunities as a Quantity Surveyor (ANZSCO 233213) or Contract Administrator (ANZSCO 511111), consider the following:

Start with 482jobs.com ( https://482jobs.com ) – This is our dedicated job board where all listed roles offer visa sponsorship.

Check major job portals like Seek.com.au and Indeed.com.au. Use keywords like “visa sponsorship” or “482 visa” when searching.

Network with industry professionals on LinkedIn and construction forums. Engage with companies hiring in your field.

Contact recruitment agencies specializing in construction and infrastructure roles, such as Hays Recruitment and Design & Build Recruitment.

    Employer-Sponsored Visa Options

Since your occupation is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), you have pathways like:

Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa – Subclass 482: Requires employer sponsorship and allows you to work in Australia for up to four years.

Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) – Subclass 186: A direct permanent residency (PR) option if an employer is willing to sponsor you under the Direct Entry stream.

Skilled Independent or State-Sponsored Visas (189/190/491): If employer sponsorship is difficult, you may consider applying for a points-tested visa through the General Skilled Migration (GSM) pathway, provided you meet eligibility requirements.

    Other Considerations

Ensure your skills assessment is completed through AIQS (Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors) for Quantity Surveyors. Contract Administrators may not require a skills assessment for employer-sponsored visas.

Improve your chances by targeting regional areas, as some employers outside major cities are more willing to sponsor skilled workers.

Best of luck with your job search! Feel free to ask if you need more specific advice. 😊

    Regards,

    Mark
