Temporary Employer Sponsored Visa (Subclass 482) – Marketing Roles
Posted by Veronika on January 28, 2025 at 1:32 pmHi everyone!
I’m Veronika from Germany and just moved to Sydney a little less than 2 weeks ago. I’m on a WHV at the moment, but looking to switch to an employer sponsored visa. If anyone has any tips for a fellow marketer, I’d love to chat 🙂

Hiya Veronika. Welcome to our community (and Sydney). How are you finding Australia so far? 🙂
On the marketing side, have you secured any work under your WHV arrangement.
Also, what kind of marketing do you have experience in? Trade shows, magazines, social media marketing etc?
All the best
Mark

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your reply! I’ve been loving being (back) here.
No, unfortunately, I haven’t had any luck yet with any replies from potential employers. Not giving up just yet though 🙂
I have experience in Product Marketing Management, Social Media and Public Relations. I’m mainly looking for a position in Product Marketing Management, Brand Management or Marketing Coordination/Management.

Hi Veronika, I checked in with the small team who post jobs for us over at 482jobs.com to get a sense check for the popularity for marketing roles and I’m afraid the general consensus was that they are generally a little thin on the ground.
I’m guessing the ability to work remotely I’m marketing may be a driver 🤔
In more positive news. There are certainly a lot of marketing companies based in Sydney so a focused networking campaign might not hurt your efforts in the short term

Hi Mark, apologies for the late response!
Really appreciate that you checked in with the team about the current status. It is indeed quite tricky at the moment, but I’m trying to stay focused with the applications. And as you said, networking definitely helps a lot 🙂
I’m happy about any further tips any time 🙏
