G’day @alexander, tech support and sales are quite different. Which occupations do you have the most experience in and what environments were you supporting/selling?

    Cheers

Hi Alex. I think with the tech support. You need to consider that you were providing this from a call centre. Many Australian companies offshore their tech support so the chances of being sponsored to provide tech support onshore is extremely limited.

Can you expand on the outfitting position? Is this linked to carpentry or similar?

Ok Alex, based on your resume, your experience in IT support, network systems, sales, and customer service may qualify you for several Australian visa programs under skilled occupations.

Australia’s skilled migration programs typically focus on professions listed in the Skilled Occupation List (SOL), which includes IT-related roles such as:

    1. ICT Support Engineer (ANZSCO Code: 263212)
    2. Network Administrator (263112)
    3. ICT Customer Support Officer (313112)

Your IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+ and Network+) and hands-on technical experience strengthen your profile for these roles.

Australia also evaluates applicants based on English proficiency, qualifications, and age. For skilled visas like Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent) or Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated), you’ll need a positive skills assessment from an authority like the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

I’d suggest completing a skills assessment with ASC might you be your best bit in the short term – at least then you know your skills and background align with the roles/occupations I’ve mentioned above.

Hi Alex – Having your skills assessed is a key component as it verifies that you have the skills aligned with the job title.

This, in turn, might make you a more attractive hire for Australian employers, though there are no guarantees.

Ultimately, we can’t guarantee that there won’t be other, more qualified candidates from Australia (or overseas) applying for the same position as you. 🤷‍♂️
