What is the occupation/job title of the role you have been offered?
Your employer in Coffs Harbour must apply to become a Standard Business Sponsor (if they’re not already) and nominate you for the job. This guide we have written here might be of interest to them if they haven’t done this yet or they aren’t sure where to start.
Once nominated, you can apply for the subclass 482 visa. You’ll likely need to meet skills, English, health, and character requirements.

The occupation Importer or Exporter (ANZSCO 133311) is included in the Orana Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) occupation list.
This means that if you secure a job offer from an approved employer in the Orana region of New South Wales, you may be eligible for visa sponsorship under this DAMA.
The Orana DAMA offers several concessions for eligible occupations, including:
Age concession: Applicants can be up to 55 years old.
English language concession: Lower English proficiency requirements may apply.
Pathway to permanent residency: Eligible through the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa (subclass 186).
I’d note the process for the employer is a little different to the one I shared earlier as they would need to do things like seek endorsement from the DAMA regional body.

- Following payment, you will be emailed a link to schedule a meeting through the migration agents online calendar so you can find a time that suits you both.
- The migration agent will issue you a google meet video invitation for the video call

Dealing with MARA registered agents is important as this ensures the person you are dealing with is qualified to the correct standards.
