Hi Mark. It’s getting there. Think it’ll be a little while before I’m ready to take the plunge. I’ve been looking at the 186 Direct Entry visa recently, think that might be my best bet. My occupation – Data Analyst – is on the Core Skills Occupation List.

Thanks for the advice, Mark. Yes permanent residency would be the dream. Points-wise I think I should be okay. For now age is on my side, but certainly aware that it won’t always be.
I’m hoping at some point the SOL will catch up and have Data Analyst as a skill. I’ve got another year or two of my course left yet, after which I’ll be considering my options.

‘Data Analyst’ doesn’t currently appear on the skilled occupation list – hopefully it will in the future – but my research suggests that Information and Organisation Professionals nec (224999) is the closest fit.
