H, thank you.
I would like to get clarity on skilled visas. I am 42 and my Health Care occupation is on the Skill Shortage list.
Since time is not on my side regarding age cut off for PR, I felt that the 482 visa would not work because we ( I have a family) could stay for 4 years perhaps, but it won’t be a pathway to PR because I would reach the age cut off before I have completed 2 years working in the country. I can’t find anything about ever being eligible for citizenship from a 482 visa without getting PR.
I want to know what the alternative options for PR would be other than a 189 visa, which would be great but has a lot of paperwork and not necessarily any guarantees. I have been offered a 186 visa (employer sponsored PR) but the penalties were hefty if I had to leave the employer before 4 years, which even if you have good intentions would be an easy commitment.
I would appreciate some feedback and clarity on the matter.
