March 10, 2025 at 4:25 pm in reply to: Extended Processing Duration Australia Student Visa

Hi Ayesha, and welcome to Oz Visa Forum 🤗

It’s understandable to feel anxious about the wait. Australian student visa (Subclass 500) processing times can vary based on several factors, including your country of application, the completeness of your documents, and the overall visa backlog.

As of now, the Department of Home Affairs provides estimated processing times, which typically range from 4 to 6 weeks for 75-90% of applications, but some may take longer.

Because you applied on January 9th and are still waiting, it might be worth checking your ImmiAccount to make sure no additional documents or requests are pending.

Since you have deferred your course to June 2nd, this should not affect your visa approval, but you may want to upload a new Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) reflecting the updated start date if required.

If your employer’s job offer involves a work visa (such as the Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage visa), you might want to explore whether that would be a better or faster pathway, depending on your circumstances.

If your wait continues beyond normal processing times, you can submit an enquiry through the Global Service Centre or contact your nearest Australian visa office.

I hope this helps. I wish you the best with your visa approval! Let us know how it goes.

    Regards

March 10, 2025 at 4:21 pm in reply to: Career Food Technologist

Hi Hemanta and welcome to our community!

To secure employer sponsorship in Australia, you’ll typically need to find a job with a company willing to sponsor you for a Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482) or a Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494) if you’re open to regional areas.

    Steps to Get Sponsored:

    1. Check if Your Occupation is Eligible

      • Food Technologist (ANZSCO 234212) is currently on the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL), meaning you can apply for a TSS visa (subclass 482) if you find an employer willing to sponsor you.
      • If you are open to regional areas, Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (subclass 494) visa could also be an option.
    2. Find Sponsored Jobs

      • Start your job search at 482jobs.com (all jobs listed here offer visa sponsorship).
      • Also check Seek and Indeed by searching for “Food Technologist sponsorship” or “Quality Assurance sponsorship.”
      • Use LinkedIn (https://linkedin.com) to connect with Australian employers in the food industry.
    3. Prepare for Employers

      • Your resume and cover letter should highlight your experience in food technology, particularly in quality assurance and extruded snacks.
      • Obtain an IELTS or PTE English test if required.
      • Some employers may prefer candidates with Australian-recognised skills assessments (not always required for TSS 482 but may be useful for PR pathways).
    4. Alternative Pathways

      • If employer sponsorship is difficult, consider applying for an Australian skilled visa (e.g., subclass 189 or 190) if eligible. You would need a skills assessment from VETASSESS for Food Technologist.

I hope this helps for starters. Please let me know how I can assist further!

    All the best

March 10, 2025 at 1:34 pm in reply to: Visa Sponsorship – Accountant

    Hi M,

Thanks for the update! Since you’re currently overseas, securing employer sponsorship can be challenging but not impossible.

    To improve your chances:

    • Focus on employers who actively sponsor visas. Our job board 482jobs.com exclusively lists jobs that offer visa sponsorship, so I’d recommend starting there.
    • Expand your job search to regional areas, as some employers in those locations may be more open to sponsoring.
    • Ensure your skills assessment is in order if you plan on a skilled visa pathway in the future. For accountants, CPA Australia, CAANZ (Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand), or IPA (Institute of Public Accountants) handle skills assessments.
    • Networking is key! Consider reaching out to recruiters and connecting with Australian accountants on LinkedIn (https://linkedin.com).
    • Linked to my prior point – also make sure your linkedin profile is optimised to Attract Australian Recruiters.

Let me know if you need guidance on any specific steps. Wishing you the best in your job search!

March 10, 2025 at 7:50 am in reply to: Visa Sponsorship Aged Care Worker

Hi Ronil, welcome to our community and thanks for your question.

Your wife has strong qualifications and experience, making her a good candidate for employer-sponsored visas in aged care.

Since she has over 21 months of Australian experience, she may be eligible for employer-sponsored visas like the 482 Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa or the 186 Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa, depending on employer willingness and eligibility.

To find sponsorship opportunities, I recommend checking:

482 Jobs: https://482jobs.com – One of our websites. All listed jobs offer visa sponsorship.

Seek: https://seek.com.au – Use keywords like “visa sponsorship” and “aged care worker.”

Indeed: https://indeed.com.au – Another platform to search for sponsored aged care roles.

LinkedIn – Networking with aged care providers can help find hidden opportunities.

Additionally, reaching out to aged care providers directly and applying through regional employers under DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreements) may increase sponsorship chances.

If you need more guidance on visa pathways, feel free to ask!

    Best of luck,

    Mark

March 10, 2025 at 7:41 am in reply to: I’m looking for a company that provide visa

Hi Md, welcome to Oz Visa Forim and thanks for your question. 🙂

Retail Supervisor (ANZSCO 621511) is on the Regional Occupation List (ROL), meaning employer-sponsored visa options are typically available in regional areas under a Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA).

This means you may be eligible for visas like:

Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (Only in DAMA regions)

Subclass 494 Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (SESR) visa (Employer sponsorship required in regional areas)

To find a sponsoring employer, check these job websites:

https://482jobs.com – One of our websites – all jobs listed here offer visa sponsorship.

https://seek.com.au – Use keywords like “visa sponsorship” when searching.

https://indeed.com.au – Another platform to explore job opportunities.

I also recommend networking through LinkedIn and directly contacting businesses in regional areas.

If you need help with visa requirements or application strategies, let me know! 👍🏻

Best of luck with your job search.

March 10, 2025 at 7:26 am in reply to: Risk Management Sponsorhip

Hi Gonzalo and welcome to our community. Thanks for your question 🙂

Australia Visas are linked to Skilled Occupations and your expertise in risk management aligns with several ANZSCO (Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations) codes that are listed on Australia’s skilled occupation lists, making employer sponsorship a viable pathway. I’ve reviewed the key occupations below and the visa options for each.

    1. Management Consultant (ANZSCO 224711) – This role involves assisting organizations to achieve greater efficiency and solve organizational problems. It is included in the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL), which can qualify for employer-sponsored visas like the Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage) visa.

    2. Human Resource Manager (ANZSCO 132311) – This position entails planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and coordinating human resource and workplace relations within an organization. It is also on the STSOL, making it eligible for certain employer-sponsored visas.

    3. Specialist Managers nec (not elsewhere classified) (ANZSCO 139999) – This category covers managers who plan, organize, direct, control, and coordinate special functions within organizations, such as advertising and sales, financial, human resources, production and distribution, education, health and welfare, and ICT. It includes roles like Airport Manager, Ambulance Services Manager, Harbour Master, and Security Manager (Non-ICT). This occupation is listed on the STSOL.

To enhance your prospects of securing sponsorship:

Target Sponsored Job Listings – Begin with https://482jobs.com, one of our websites where all job listings confirm visa sponsorship. Additionally, explore opportunities on https://seek.com.au and https://indeed.com.au.

Leverage LinkedIn – Connect with recruiters and Australian companies that require risk management expertise, particularly in sectors like finance, healthcare, and consulting.

Consider Regional Opportunities – Some roles may qualify under a Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA), offering more flexibility with visa criteria.

Check Visa Pathways – The Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage) visa is a common employer-sponsored option.

If your occupation is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), you could also explore permanent options like the Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme) visa.

I hope this information is helpful. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

    Regards, Mark

March 9, 2025 at 9:11 pm in reply to: I am looking for a company that provides visa sponsorship

    Hi Dani,

Your skills in welding, engine repair and maintenance, and general electrical work could align with several occupations on Australia’s skilled migration lists.

Employers in industries such as construction, manufacturing, and automotive maintenance often sponsor skilled workers under the Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage) visa or Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme) visa.

To find sponsorship opportunities, I recommend checking:

https://482jobs.com – This is one of our websites, and all jobs listed here offer confirmed visa sponsorship.

https://seek.com.au – Australia’s largest job board, where you can filter jobs by “visa sponsorship.”

https://Indeed.com.au – Another good job search site that sometimes lists sponsored positions.

You should also consider looking into regional areas where skills shortages are more pronounced. Some areas have DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreements) that offer more flexible sponsorship options.

If you have trade qualifications, you may also need a skills assessment from an authorised body like TRA (Trades Recognition Australia) https://www.tradesrecognitionaustralia.gov.au.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Hello Vincent. Welcome to our community mate and thank you for your post.

Would you mind confirming what visa class you are here on?

If you’re on a temporary visa, some employers may hesitate to hire due to sponsorship constraints.

Also, are you gettimg interviews or are you not even getting to that stage?

Finally, are you tied to living in Sydney.

I’m based over in Western Australia and I know that skilled wireless telecom resources are pretty sought after over here, especially in the LTE space due to the use of wireless technology in the WA mines.

March 9, 2025 at 8:54 pm in reply to: meat inspector

Hello there Xolisani. Thank you for introducing yourself and welcome to Oz Visa Forum.🙂

As a Meat Inspector, you may be eligible for a Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482) if you can secure employer sponsorship.

Your occupation falls under occupation code ANZSCO 311311 (Meat Inspector) and is listed on the Australian Regional Occupation List (ROL). This means you can only be sponsored for a TSS 482 visa in a regional area of Australia.

To find employers offering visa sponsorship, check out https://482jobs.com – this is another one of our websites and all jobs listed there confirm visa sponsorship. You can also explore:

    Seek: https://seek.com.au

    Indeed: https://indeed.com.au

LinkedIn: Search for Australian meat processing companies that hire sponsored workers.

Since Meat Inspectors are on the ROL, you may also have pathways to:

Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494)

Permanent residency via the Regional pathway (subclass 191), after meeting eligibility requirements

Many meat processing plants operate under Labour Agreements, which may provide more sponsorship opportunities.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you need further guidance.
