Hi Alex. I think with the tech support. You need to consider that you were providing this from a call centre. Many Australian companies offshore their tech support so the chances of being sponsored to provide tech support onshore is extremely limited.

Can you expand on the outfitting position? Is this linked to carpentry or similar?

With regard to your resume. Please feel free to upload your resume here: https://482jobs.com/candidates/submit-resume/ .

482jobs is one of the other sites we run.

I’m happy to take a look at your resume if you can message me the link once uploaded.

January 20, 2025 at 10:13 pm in reply to: Looking for Electrical technician or delivery driving job

Sorry Asad, just to be clear. If you did a skills assessment would you be able to demonstrate you have experience doing the activities highlighted in the link below:

    https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/classifications/anzsco-australian-and-new-zealand-standard-classification-occupations/2021/browse-classification/3/34/341/3411

Electricians are highly governed roles so your skills would be assessed quite closely before allowing you to apply for sponsorship under this occupation.

Hello Seth, is it fair to say that farming would be your preferred occupation given this appears to be the area where you have the most experience?

Hello mate, those roles will be difficult to get with sponsorship.

Given you are from India, have you considered a working holiday visa to help you get some experience working in Australia while also building your network with potential future employers?

Hello Asad, would you qualify your occupation as an electrician? There may be opportunities for sponsorship in that space though not for delivery drivers.

If you would say your role is equivalent to an electrician, how many years experience would yous say you have?

January 20, 2025 at 9:01 pm in reply to: Introduction – Heavy Equipment Repair Technician seeking sponsorship

Hi Henry, your expertise in heavy equipment repair is highly sought after in Australia, especially in industries like mining and construction. Many companies sponsor skilled workers through employer-nominated visa programs.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to explore opportunities with visa sponsorship:

    1. Identify the Relevant Visa

The most common options for skilled workers like you include:

Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186): Permanent residency for skilled workers sponsored by an Australian employer.

Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa (Subclass 482): Temporary visa allowing work for an employer willing to sponsor you.

Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189): If you qualify, you can apply without employer sponsorship (requires skill assessment and invitation).

    2. Skills Assessment

Australia requires certain trades to undergo a skills assessment to verify qualifications and experience. The assessing body for heavy vehicle mechanics and related roles is usually Trades Recognition Australia (TRA). Learn more here:

    3. Look for Sponsoring Employers

    Use job portals such as:

    482jobs (our website) https://482jobs.com

    Seek: https://www.seek.com.au/

    Indeed: https://au.indeed.com/

Focus on mining and heavy machinery companies in Western Australia, Queensland, and New South Wales, as these states have a high demand for skilled technicians.

    4. Prepare Your Application

Update your CV tailored to Australian standards.

Highlight your experience with brands like Komatsu, Sandvik, and Caterpillar.

    Obtain references from previous employers.

    I hope this helps

    Cheers

January 20, 2025 at 8:47 pm in reply to: Australian visa sponsorship and job opportunity

    Hi Meera and welcome

As a registered nurse (ANZSCO code 254412), you are in high demand in Australia and could apply for a skilled visa that allows family sponsorship or migration with your family. Here’s how you can proceed:

    1. Skill Assessment: Your nursing qualifications must be assessed by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Learn more here https://www.anmac.org.au/.

    2. Expression of Interest (EOI): Once your skills are assessed, submit an EOI via SkillSelect for a visa such as:

Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage) if you find an employer sponsor. Roles here: https://482jobs.com/browse-jobs/?search_keywords=Nurse&search_location=&post_type=job_listing

Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme) for permanent residency.

Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent) or 190 (Skilled Nominated) for skilled migration without requiring an employer.

    3. English Language Test: Demonstrate your English proficiency (e.g., IELTS, PTE Academic).

    4. Visa Options for Family: Most skilled visas allow family members (spouse/children) to be included in your application.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you have further questions.

    Cheers

January 20, 2025 at 8:39 pm in reply to: Looking Job with Visa Sponsorship

Thank you for sharing your background, Fareed and welcome to our community.

Based on your qualifications and experience, you may consider pursuing Australian skilled migration programs or employer-sponsored visas. Here are the key options to explore:

    1. Skilled Migration (Points-Tested Visas):

Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent Visa): This does not require employer sponsorship but is based on a points system.

Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa): Requires nomination by an Australian state/territory.

Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional Visa): Requires regional nomination and offers a pathway to permanent residency.

You will likely need a skills assessment through Engineers Australia for Civil Engineering qualifications. Learn more here https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au

    2. Employer-Sponsored Visas:

Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage Visa): Requires a job offer and sponsorship by an Australian employer.

Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme): For permanent roles with employer sponsorship.

Sponsored job listings can be viewed on our website at https://482jobs.com though a visa not requiring a sponsor may be preferable.

    I hope this helps

January 20, 2025 at 8:29 pm in reply to: Cyber Security Sponsorship jobs

    Welcome, Vije 🙂

    Hi Vije,

It’s great you’re considering moving to Australia with your extensive cyber security experience. Since your occupation, ICT Security Specialist (ANZSCO 262112), is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), you have several strong migration pathways available.

Key steps for your migration process:

    1. Skills Assessment:

Your occupation requires a skills assessment through the Australian Computer Society (ACS). You’ll need to provide qualifications (such as a degree in IT or a related field) and evidence of work experience (minimum of 2 years or equivalent post-qualification work, depending on your background).

Learn more about the ACS skills assessment process here: https://www.acs.org.au/

    2. Choose a Visa Pathway:

Common visas for MLTSSL occupations include:

Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189): No sponsorship required.

Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190): Requires state/territory nomination.

Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491): Requires regional sponsorship.

You’ll need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via SkillSelect to be invited for these visas.

    3. Points Test:

Points are awarded for age, qualifications, work experience, English proficiency, and other factors. A minimum of 65 points is required, but higher scores improve your chances.

Use this points calculator to estimate: https://gettingdownunder.com/australian-migration-points-calculator/

    4. State Nomination:

Some states/territories prioritise ICT professionals. Research specific state requirements (e.g., NSW, Victoria, or Queensland) as they often nominate ICT Security Specialists.

    5. English Language Test:

Tests such as IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL are required unless exempt. Higher scores improve points. Even though you are from the UK, I’d still take the test as you can get many extra points for having ‘superior level English.’

Lots of info here, though I hope thus helps get you started.

Feel free to ask if you have any additional questions. 👍

Hi Lawrence, is that aimed at me or @fayyaz who appears to have randomly joined your thread?

@fayyaz , please start a new thread to avoid confusion. Thank you..

@Larry , the article/opinion piece I shared is an article I wrote very recently I’m pretty confident that it’s still accurate.
