OK, so to apply for the independent visas (no sponsorship required), you will need a minimum of 65 points, Ronnie

With this in mind, I would focus on the Sponsored visa such as the 482 Visa. Note you will still need to have your skills assessed given the nature of your occupations (qualified electricians need to be licensed in Australia).

    I hope this helps

February 19, 2025 at 1:36 pm in reply to: I’m in desperate need of a job abroad.

Hi Rizwana, Welcome to our community. Thanks for sharing your background and experience. 😊

I understand your desire to find work abroad, especially given the challenges in Pakistan.

Realistically, some of the roles you mentioned—such as housekeeping, cleaning, room attendants, dishwashing, kitchen helpers, and picking/packing—are low-skilled positions.

These jobs typically do not meet Australia’s visa sponsorship requirements, as most employer-sponsored visas require skilled occupations. 😔

However, your experience caring for sick and disabled women and children and as a nurse assistant could offer better visa opportunities, especially if you have formal training or qualifications in aged care, disability support, or nursing.

If you gain the right certifications, roles such as Aged Care Worker (ANZSCO 423111 ) or Disability Support Worker (ANZSCO 411712) may be options.

Could you provide more details about your experience in these areas?

Do you have any formal training, certifications, or healthcare or support work qualifications?

If you are looking for visa-sponsored jobs, you can check https://482jobs.com—all positions there offer visa sponsorship. Other job platforms like https://seek.com.au and https://indeed.com.au are also worth exploring.

Let me know more about your healthcare experience, and I’d be happy to guide you further!

    Best regards,
    Mark

Hi Ronnie, and welcome to the Oz Visa Forum.

As a skilled electrician, you have several visa options for migrating to Australia. Here’s what you need to do:

    Visa Options for Electricians

    1. Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189) – A points-tested visa that does not require employer sponsorship. You need to be invited to apply after submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI).
    2. Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190) – Requires nomination by an Australian state or territory. Each state has different criteria for electricians.
    3. Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491) – Requires nomination by a state or sponsorship by an eligible family member in a regional area.
    4. Employer-Sponsored Visa (subclass 482 or 186) – If you secure a job offer, an Australian employer can sponsor you.

Steps to Apply1. Check ANZSCO Code & Skills Assessment

Electricians fall under ANZSCO 341111 (Electrician General), which is on the MLTSSL (Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List). This means you qualify for skilled migration pathways.

Before applying for a visa, you must pass a skills assessment to prove your qualifications and experience meet Australian standards. The assessment for electricians is conducted by Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) through a registered training organisation (RTO).

Here are some RTOs that can assess electricians:

The process involves submitting documents, conducting technical interviews, and conducting a practical assessment.

    2. English Language Test

You must take an English test (IELTS, PTE, or equivalent) to meet visa requirements. Minimum scores depend on the visa type.

    3. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)

For subclass 189, 190, or 491, you must submit an EOI through SkillSelect on the Department of Home Affairs website. You’ll be ranked on a points system based on age, skills, work experience, and English ability.

    4. State Nomination (if applying for subclass 190 or 491)

If you choose a state-nominated visa, check each state’s requirements. Some Australian states have specific demands for electricians.

    5. Job Search (for employer-sponsored visas)

If you prefer employer sponsorship (subclass 482 or 186), start looking for jobs that offer visa sponsorship:

    6. Apply for a Visa

Once you receive an invitation or sponsorship, you can apply for your visa through the Department of Home Affairs: http://www.homeaffairs.gov.au.

If you need help with specific steps like the skills assessment or job search, please let me know!

    All the best

February 19, 2025 at 12:07 pm in reply to: Job search sponsorship visa

Hi Ashwani, nice to hear from you again 😊

Thanks for reaching out! Given your background in accounting and office administration, your best visa pathway for sponsorship would likely be the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482) or the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494) if you’re open to regional areas.

For an accountant role, employer sponsorship is competitive, but opportunities exist. I recommend searching for jobs that specifically offer visa sponsorship on 482jobs.com—this is one of our websites, and all jobs listed there are confirmed as offering sponsorship. You can also check Seek and Indeed.

Why is a skills assessment required?

A skills assessment is necessary to prove to the Australian Government that your qualifications and experience match Australian standards for your occupation. It is typically required if you are applying for a skilled visa, including employer-sponsored pathways. For accountants, the approved skills assessing authorities are:

    To improve your chances, consider:

    • Getting a skills assessment through one of the authorities listed above.
    • Ensuring you meet the English language requirements.
    • Exploring regional sponsorship under the DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement) program if applicable to your occupation.

I also encourage you to review posts from other accountants in our community via this link:
    https://ozvisaforum.com/?s=accountant&bp_search=1&view=content

This will help you connect with others who have experienced similar things, and you may gain valuable insights into securing sponsorship.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have further questions.

February 19, 2025 at 6:55 am in reply to: sponsorship for visa

Hi Kemal, welcome to our community.🙂

Thanks for sharing your experience as a dairy farm veterinarian!

Since you’re looking for a sponsored job in Australia, I recommend starting with one of our other websites, https://482jobs.com, which lists jobs that are confirmed to offer visa sponsorship.

Dairy related roles currently listed for information

    Additionally, you can search on:

    https://seek.com.au

    https://indeed.com.au

The latter two websites include jobs that do not offer sponsorship so ensure you add the terms “sponsorship” or “482 visa” to try and narrow your search results.

For a dairy farm role, you might qualify for a Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482) or a Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (SESR) visa (subclass 494), depending on the position and location.

If you’re open to regional areas, exploring the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) might also be an option.

Since many employers hesitate to sponsor offshore candidates, consider:

    1. Networking with farm owners and industry groups through LinkedIn and Australian dairy associations.

    2. Checking regional DAMA agreements, which often have more flexible sponsorship options.

    3. Consider researching and contacting registered migration agents who specialise in employer sponsorship.

If you find a potential employer but they are unsure about the sponsorship process, you can direct them to the official Department of Home Affairs website: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions or need more information about any of the above points.

February 19, 2025 at 6:47 am in reply to: Garment Technologist job opportunity

Hi Sachira, welcome to our community.🙂

Australia has a strong fashion and textile industry, and as a Garment Technologist, you may be eligible for visa sponsorship if you find an employer willing to sponsor you.

    To find job opportunities:

    1. 482jobs.com – This is our dedicated job board where all listings offer visa sponsorship: https://482jobs.com

    2. Seek – One of Australia’s largest job portals: https://seek.com.au

    3. Indeed – Another popular job search website: https://indeed.com.au

    4. LinkedIn – Networking and job searching: https://linkedin.com

For options 2,3 and 4. As you will find a mix of non sponsored and some sponsored jobs, try searching for roles like “Garment Technologist,” “Apparel Technician,” or “Textile Technologist” with keywords like “visa sponsorship” or “482 visa.

On the job search words. For me to better understand what visa opportunities exist. Can you expand a little more on the role and what it entails?

Skilled Australian visa options are linked to occupations so it will be helpful for me to align your skills and experience with a particular occupation so we can see what visas your occupation qualifies for.

Beyond that, please let me know if you need guidance on visa options or application strategies. Good luck with your job search!

    Regards

Hi Chris, sorry, it wasn’t clear you were looking for details. We do have a registered Australian Migration agent we partner with but their initial assessment fee is approx $100 AUD. The intention of this assessment is to review your case and map out potential visa options for you. Should you choose to sign up for their services after this assessment they will agree the fees directly with you to process your paperwork and visa applications on your behalf.

If this is what you were looking for, please let me know.

If this is not what you were looking for. Also let me know. 🙂

Hello there and welcome – Firstly I split your post into its own thread. Please avoid replying to someone elses post with your own questions as it makes thinks a little messy.

With regards to your question, please can you expand a little more on your occupation for me?

I’m not 100% sure what you do but it sounds like it may be a motor mechanic. Can you confirm and if you are, also confirm how many years experience you have?

    Thank you 🙂

February 18, 2025 at 3:24 pm in reply to: How can I effectively find jobs that offer Australia visa sponsorship

Hi Yoktan, welcome to our community! 😊

This is a great question! Finding a job with visa sponsorship requires a strategic approach. See some of my tips below – There is a lot of reading and links shared below so feel free to ask if you have any more specific questions after reviewing the information I have shared with you.

    1. Best Job Platforms:

      • 482jobs.com – As you’ve already mentioned 482jobs, I will give it another plug- This is our own dedicated job board where all listed jobs have been hand-checked as offering visa sponsorship to overseas candidates.
      • Seek – Australia’s largest job site – Use keywords like “visa sponsorship” or “482 visas” when searching.
      • Indeed – Similar to Seek, refine searches to include “visa sponsorship.”
      • LinkedIn – Many employers advertise jobs here; connect with recruiters and mention your visa requirements in your profile (see below for further LinkedIn tips).
    2. Networking & Direct Applications:

    3. Tailoring Your Application:

      • Ensure your resume is formatted to Australian standards (concise, achievement-focused).
      • Highlight your eligibility for a skilled visa and mention your willingness to relocate.
      • If your occupation requires skills assessment or licensing (e.g., engineers, nurses, trades), ensure you have the necessary certifications.
    4. Target Regional Areas:

      • Some employers in regional areas (who often struggle to find local talent) may be more open to sponsoring skilled migrants.
      • Explore DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement) pathways, which offer sponsorship in certain regional areas with relaxed criteria.

Persistence is key, so keep applying, networking, and refining your approach. Let me know if you need more guidance or have any questions about any of the resources I have shared.

    Regards,

February 18, 2025 at 3:12 pm in reply to: Migration to Australia

Hi Gift, and welcome to our community here at Oz Visa Forum 😊

As an accountant from Zimbabwe, you have a good chance of migrating to Australia through the General Skilled Migration (GSM) program or employer-sponsored visas. Here’s how you can proceed:

    1. Skills Assessment

Your occupation falls under ANZSCO 221111 – Accountant (General), which is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). You must get a skills assessment from CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), or the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Visit their websites for assessment requirements:

    2. English Language Test

You need to take an English test such as IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL. A higher score can increase your points for skilled migration.

    3. Visa Pathways

    • Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189) – No sponsorship required, but you must score high on the points test.
    • Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) – Requires state nomination, offering extra points.
    • Skilled Work Regional (Subclass 491) – Requires regional state nomination or family sponsorship.

    4. Expression of Interest (EOI) via SkillSelect

Once your skills are assessed and you meet the points requirement (usually 65+, but higher is better), you can submit an EOI in SkillSelect and wait for an invitation to apply.

    5. Employer-Sponsored Pathway

You can also apply for jobs with sponsorship, especially under the Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage visa). To find jobs with sponsorship, check:

As a final tip, a few accountants have already posted in our forums. You can view their posts here. You can also select the “Members’ link from this results page to view our other members with accountants as their occupation. I highly recommend following or connecting with these members as well

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

February 18, 2025 at 9:11 am in reply to: Health Information Management Jobs with Visa Sponsorship

Hi Stephen and welcome to our community! 😊

Given that employer sponsorship is your best pathway due to your age, I recommend starting your job search on 482jobs.com. This is one of our websites, and all listings offer visa sponsorship. Additionally, you can check Seek and Indeed for roles in Health Information Management or Medical Record Management with sponsorship options.

Your field may align with ANZSCO code 224213, Health Information Manager, which is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). Please check this link to view a breakdown of job duties for this occupation and ensure it aligns with your current role and experience.

This means potential eligibility for employer-sponsored visas such as:

If you hold a relevant qualification, you may also consider state nomination under a skilled visa. Checking occupation lists for different states could provide more options.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you need guidance on visa options or job search strategies.
