Hello Tendesayi, and welcome to our community. 🙂

Before I break down your options, I highly recommend you also take a look at some of the recent posts from some of our other members, who are accountants here. You might also want to connect and follow the other members applying as accountants via the same link.

Beyond that, If you’re looking for accounting-related job opportunities in Australia with visa sponsorship, I recommend starting with these job search websites:

https://482Jobs.com – Our own site featuring jobs that offer visa sponsorship.

https://seek.com.au – One of Australia’s largest job boards.

https://Indeed.com.au – Another great platform for job searching in Australia.

Since you have 7 years of experience in accounting within the FMCG sector, you may qualify for skilled migration pathways.

The main ANZSCO (Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations) codes for accounting-related roles are:

    221111 Accountant (General)

    221112 Management Accountant

    221113 Taxation Accountant

These occupations are currently on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), which means you could explore options such as:

Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) – No sponsorship required.

Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) – Requires state nomination.

Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Requires nomination by a regional state/territory or family sponsor.

Employer-sponsored visas (e.g., subclass 482, 186) – If an employer is willing to sponsor you.

If you haven’t already, you may need a skills assessment from CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or IPA to support your visa application. More details are available on their websites:

    CPA Australia: https://www.cpaaustralia.com.au

    Chartered Accountants ANZ: https://www.charteredaccountantsanz.com

    Institute of Public Accountants: https://www.publicaccountants.org.au

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

    All the best

    Hi Abraham,

It depends on the type of visa you are applying for. If you are looking for an employer-sponsored visa, such as the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482) or the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa (subclass 186), then yes, you must first secure a job offer from an employer.

Here’s how the process works for an employer-sponsored visa:

    1. Find an Employer – The employer must be willing to sponsor you. You can search for jobs with sponsorship on 482jobs.com, which lists only sponsored jobs. Other job search sites include Seek and Indeed.

    2. Employer Applies for Sponsorship – The employer must be an approved Standard Business Sponsor (SBS) or apply to become one.

    3. Employer Nominates You – The employer submits a nomination application to the Department of Home Affairs, specifying your job role.

    4. You Apply for the Visa – Once the nomination is approved, you can apply for your visa.

If you are applying for a skilled independent visa, like the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189), you do not need an employer. Instead, you submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect, and if invited, you can apply for the visa independently.

I hope this clears things up! Let me know if you need further clarification.

    Regards

Hi Samuel and thank you for confirming 🙂

Eight years of teaching experience is a great foundation!

It’s important to know that here In Australia, teaching is a regulated profession, and to migrate as a teacher, you will need:

A skills assessment from the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) (https://www.aitsl.edu.au).

A valid English proficiency test, such as IELTS (usually requiring a high score).

To meet state-based teacher registration requirements if you plan to work in a specific region.

Since Mathematics Teacher (ANZSCO 241311) is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), you have good visa options, including:

Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent Visa) – No sponsorship required, points-tested.

Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa) – State sponsorship required, points-tested.

Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional Visa) – Regional sponsorship required, points-tested.

However, Christian Religious Education Teacher may not have the same migration options, so Mathematics would be the stronger occupation for your application.

If you need help with calculating your points for a skilled visa please see the link I’ve shared above.

Please let me know if you have any further questions and I’d be happy to guide you through the next steps!

    Best regards,

    Mark

    Hi Samuel,

Welcome to the community! It’s great to have you here. 🙂 It sounds like you have a diverse skill set with both teaching and pastoral experience. If you’re considering migration to Australia, there may be pathways depending on your qualifications and work experience.

Do you have a view at this time with regards to the type of work you’d like to do here in Australia.

Would teaching be your preferred platform for a move to Australia and of so, can you expand on your experience and the number of years you have worked in this field?

    Best regards,

    Mark

Hi there Gérardin. I split your post into its own topic. Please avoid replying to other peoples posts with an unrelated topic.

Just to clarify, we are a migration support forum and not a recruitment agency or employer. However, we can certainly provide guidance on how to find job opportunities in Australia, particularly those that offer visa sponsorship.

Here are some key tips to help you with your job search:

    • Use the right job platforms: Websites like 482jobs.com (which lists only visa-sponsored jobs), Seek, and Indeed Australia are great places to start.
    • Target employers open to sponsorship: When searching, use keywords like “visa sponsorship” or “482 visa” to filter opportunities.
    • Networking: Connecting with Australian employers and recruiters on LinkedIn can improve your chances. Engaging in industry-specific groups and discussions can also help.
    • Skills Assessment & Visa Eligibility: Depending on your profession, you may need a skills assessment before applying for certain visas. You might want to check if your occupation is listed on Australia’s skilled occupation lists.

If you’re looking for visa pathways or need more details about employer-sponsored visas, feel free to ask.

Wishing you the best in your job search!

    Regards,
    Mark

PS. I’m curious – why do you have 2 LinkedIn profiles? 🤷
