    Hi Francis,

Welcome to our community and thank you for introducing yourself! It’s great to have you here. If you’re looking for job opportunities with visa sponsorship in Australia, I recommend starting with the following websites:

    • 482jobs.com – This is our own website, and all jobs listed here are confirmed to offer visa sponsorship.
    • Seek and Indeed – These have a much larger job pool, but you may need to use keywords like “visa sponsorship” to filter relevant jobs.

If you have a specific occupation in mind, I’d be happy to guide you on the best visa options and eligibility requirements.

February 5, 2025 at 2:49 pm in reply to: Navigating Nursing Pathways: From Junior Nurse

    Hi Himal,

Great to hear that you’re looking into this seriously! Since you don’t have official nursing registration in Sri Lanka, your pathway to becoming a registered nurse in Australia will involve a few key steps.

    Where to Start

    1. AHPRA Registration Eligibility – The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is responsible for nursing registration. You’ll need to apply through them and meet their requirements. Since you don’t have prior registration, AHPRA will likely assess your qualifications and work experience under the Outcome-Based Assessment (OBA) pathway. More details: http://www.ahpra.gov.au
    2. The OBA Process – This is designed for internationally qualified nurses (IQNs) who don’t have automatic recognition in Australia. It consists of:
      • NCLEX-RN Exam – A multiple-choice test assessing nursing knowledge.
      • OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) – A practical exam testing clinical skills in a simulated setting.
You can find more information on the OBA process on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) website: http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au
    3. English Language Requirement: You must meet the English proficiency standards, usually through IELTS, PTE, or OET.
    4. Bridging or Additional Study – If AHPRA identifies gaps in your training, they may require further coursework.

    Common Challenges to Prepare For

    • Exam Difficulty – The NCLEX-RN and OSCE can be tough, requiring strong preparation.
    • Processing Time – AHPRA assessments and visa applications can take time, so plan ahead.
    • Work Experience Consideration – Since you were a junior nurse without official registration, AHPRA may require additional evidence of clinical competency.
    • Visa Options – If you pass AHPRA’s requirements, employer sponsorship or skilled migration pathways like the Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189) or Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) could be options.

I hope this helps – Please let me know if you’d like me to expand on any of these points.

    Regards

Hello again Tirosheni – It is a great ideas as registering your interest while looking for 482 Visa sponsorship gives you a dual approach at moving to Australia.

Regarding the school fees, generally, you will need to pay fees for school care, although this is something that can be negotiated with your employer.

Fees also differ by state. You can find a comprehensive overview in the article here.

    All the best

    Hi Saifullah,

Thank you for the additional details about your experience. Based on what you’ve shared, your primary role seems to align with the ANZSCO codes for a Telecommunications Technician (ANZSCO 313214) or possibly Electrical Technician (ANZSCO 312312). These occupations are listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), which means there are potential skilled visa pathways available.

Some visa options you might consider include:

    • Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage) Visa: This requires employer sponsorship. You can search for jobs offering sponsorship on platforms such as:

    • Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme) Visa: A permanent visa also requires employer sponsorship.

    • Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent) or 190 (Skilled Nominated) Visa: These require you to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and obtain a suitable skills assessment for your occupation.

For the Telecommunications Technician pathway, you would need a skills assessment through TRA (Trades Recognition Australia), while an Electrical Technician assessment would typically be through VETASSESS.

Feel free to ask if you’d like more information about the visa process or help with job searches!

I hope this helps clarify things, and good luck with your migration journey!

    Kind regards,
    Mark

    Hi Abdul,

Thank you for sharing your journey! It’s awesome to see your determination to work abroad despite the challenges you’ve faced. Well done for that! 🤗

Based on your background in agriculture and your current forklift operator role, you may have potential pathways to work in Australia in either the warehouse/logistics or agriculture sectors.

    1. Warehouse & Logistics Roles

Your forklift operator experience could help you find work in warehouse and logistics-related occupations. Some relevant roles include:

    • Forklift Driver (ANZSCO 721311) – Typically requires experience and a valid forklift license.
    • Storeperson (ANZSCO 741111) – Involves managing warehouse inventory, loading/unloading, and stock handling.

For visa sponsorship, warehouse jobs are not commonly listed as skilled occupations. However, you may still find opportunities under employer-sponsored visas like the 482 Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa, particularly in regional areas where there’s higher demand.

    2. Agriculture Roles

Since you hold a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, you could explore opportunities in agricultural occupations, such as:

    • Agricultural Technician (ANZSCO 311111) – Involves assisting in research, soil testing, and farm management.
    • Farm Worker / Machinery Operator (ANZSCO 841600 series) – Includes general farming, harvesting, and machinery operation.

The Agriculture Visa (PALM Scheme) and 482 Visa (for skilled roles in agriculture) could be potential options if you find an employer willing to sponsor you. Some Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMA) also allow skilled and semi-skilled agricultural workers to apply for visas.

    Next Steps

    • Job Search – Check job listings on 482jobs.com (all jobs offer visa sponsorship) and Seek and Indeed.
    • Networking – Reach out to recruitment agencies specializing in agriculture and warehouse jobs in Australia.
    • Consider Regional Areas – Many agriculture and logistics jobs are available in regional Australia, increasing your chances of employer sponsorship.

Let me know if you need further guidance!

Best of luck with your journey.

    Regards,
    Mark

February 5, 2025 at 2:03 pm in reply to: Radiographer skill assessments

    Hi again Melchizedek

The skills assessment for Diagnostic Radiographer and Sonographer in Australia is conducted by the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT).

From what I have been able to find online, here a general guide on what you need, specifically regarding the Statement of Service:

    Statement of Service Requirements

A Statement of Service is an official document from your employer that confirms your employment details. ASMIRT generally requires the following information in the statement:

    • Company Letterhead – Must be signed by an authorised person (HR, manager, or supervisor).
    • Your Full Name – Ensure it matches your official documents.
    • Position Held – Clearly state if you worked as a Diagnostic Radiographer or Sonographer.
    • Employment Type – Full-time, part-time, or casual.
    • Start and End Dates – Exact dates of employment.
    • Duties Performed – List of your core responsibilities to demonstrate you meet the required competencies.
    • Hours Worked Per Week – Particularly important for full-time or part-time positions.
    • Supervisor’s Details – Name, position, and contact details.

If an employer is unwilling to provide this, you may supplement it with:

    • Payslips
    • Work contracts
    • Tax records
    • Reference letters

    Other Key Documents for Assessment

    • Proof of Qualification – Degree certificate, transcripts, course details.
    • Evidence of English Proficiency – IELTS (7.0 in each band) or OET (B in each band).
    • Registration or Licensing Evidence – If applicable in your country of work.
    • CV/Resume – Highlight relevant experience and skills.
    • Identification Documents – Passport, change of name documents (if applicable).

Once you have everything you need can submit your application through ASMIRT’s online portal. Processing times vary, so it’s good to prepare early.

If you need further clarification, feel free to ask. In the meantime, I hope someone with first-hand experience will also chip in.

    Regards

Hi Naim, if you are not meeting the criteria for the assessment then this means there is a shortfall in the expected experience required.

    You mentioned earlier.

Yes I am electrician, an I have up to 2 years experience about Ac and refrigerator, an some small things like I can repair vacuum cleaner, mixer Grinder, etc.

This is likely not sufficient experience and may be where the criteria is not being met.

I would recommend you continue gaining further experience before trying again.
