Your reply makes sense, but it’s also a huge wakeup call for me because even though I’ve submitted 491s for all 8 states and territories, I have applied for direct nomination to exactly ZERO of them.
Which makes me think this could be a huge reason why none of my EOIs have been selected. Do you happen to have a list of which states/territories require a separate application for nomination, and which ones just select you automatically on your own? If not it’s fine, I can try to look up on my own.
Thanks again!

Hi Mark. My most recent EOIs were submitted in November of 2023. I submitted a 189, 190 and a 491. So about 14 months ago.
I previously submitted EOIs in 2019, but those were derailed by the pandemic and Australia’s closed borders for 2 years.
I’m of the opinion that my EOIs aren’t getting selected because I’m offshore(i.e. not physically in Australia). But would love to hear your opinions and thoughts on the matter as to why you think my EOIs aren’t getting picked

Thank you Mark. I also realized that this Feb 11th will be the 2 year mark of my PTE results, so I think I have to take that again to keep it active. I know EOIs expire in 2 years as well. Regarding skills assessments, my letter from the ACS says my results are good for 2 years, but I’ve heard that the Aussie government respects results for 3 years. Do you know if this is true?
Also, I found my 189 EOI login. My point total for that one is 85

Hi Mark.
This is great and amazing information. So I did a quick search, and I have 9 Submitted EOIs. I have 8 EOIs for each of the State/Territory Jurisdictions, and I selected both the 190 and 491 options for each of the 8 jurisdictions. All of my 491s have 100 points claimed, and all my 190s have 90 points claimed.
I have submitted a 189 as well, but I can’t find the EOI login credentials for that one…..will search soon to see my point total for that one. Regarding the IELTS, I didn’t take that one. I took the PTE and got the maximum point total, 90s on all areas. I claimed the max 20 points for it.
